Executive Branch of Government submits 2023 Draft Nat’l Budget

The budget is seven-hundred-seventy-seven-point-nine-million United States Dollars, covering January 1to December 31, 2023.

Presenting the Budget to House Speaker Bhofal Chambers on Monday, December 5, 2022, Deputy Finance Minister for Budget, Tenneh Brunson, said the move is consistent with Section 17.1 of the Public Financial Management Law.

She said of the total amount, one-hundred-one-million accounts for external resources.

Deputy Minister Brunson added that expenditure portfolio has been constrained to the full budget in accordance with the projected resource envelope.

She put recurrent expenditure at six-hundred-twenty-three-point-nine-million, including ninety-one-point-fifty-seven million for debt servicing.

In the Draft Fiscal Budget, public sector investment is projected at one-hundred-fifty-three-point-ninety-nine-million dollars.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers received the Draft National Budget on behalf of the National Legislature.
