The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has nominated a new Ambassador to Liberia.
He is Mark Christopher Toner.
If confirmed, he will be replacing Michael McCarthy who has served in the capacity since January 22, 2023.
Ambassador McCarthy’s replacement comes barely a week, after President Weah’s visit to the United States of America.
His Successor, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service class of Minister-Counselor, currently serves as the Minister-Counselor for the Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France.
Previously, Toner was a Senior Advisor at the Commission on Security and Compensation in Europe and a Senior Faculty Advisor at the National Defense University.
