Team Amara Konneh for Gbarpolu Senate 2023 announces the commencement of significant rehabilitation works on the Henry Town to Fassama Road, which commenced two days ago.
When completed, cars will enter Fassam from Bopolu for the first time in five years, connecting Fassama to the economies of Bopolu City, the rest of Gbarpolu County, Bomi, and Montserrado Counties, significantly reducing transportation costs and, therefore, prices of primary commodities.
In September 2022, senatorial aspirant Amara M. Konneh began countrywide consultations in Gbarpolu county to announce his intention to run for the Senate in 2023. Out of the six administrative districts in the county, the Belleh-Fassama District is the most hard-to-reach district, which has made residents in that part of the county consistently use the Lofa county routes through Zorzor and Konia in other to have access to basic social services and essential commodities, which has contributed to higher prices and more suffering among the Fasama residents. With two fronts, the rehabilitation project is expected to be completed by early March 2023.
We committed 10 percent of his World Bank compensation to Gbarpolu County before his departure to take his assignment with the Bank in April 2016. The Belleh Fasama road rehabilitation project is part of the fulfillment of that commitment. We are working with locals in other districts to identify projects that will have economic impacts.
