The internal wrangling at the opposition Liberty Party has taken another twist with the embattled Chairman Musa Hassan Bility along with his General Secretary Martin S. Kollah briefly placed on prisoner bench at the Monrovia City Court.
On Thursday, February 3, 2022, Bility, Kollah were later released based on their status, apparently because they are not at flight risk.
Liberty Party two embattled officials were dragged to court by a Writ of Arrest for multiple crimes including Forgery, Criminal Conspiracy and Criminal Facilitation.
The Writ of Arrest issued by Judge Jomah S. Jallah was based on a complaint by the Government of Liberia through the Ministerial Officer who alleged the Bility and Kollah of the charges.
The Judge’s Writ alleged that, in January, 2021, Bility along with his SG Kollah with the intention to deceive the membership and partisans of Liberty Party as well as the public connived, conspired, and purposely, criminally and intentionally altered the constitution of the Liberty Party after its convention and submitted same to the National Elections Commission knowing fully well that they were not authorized to do so; neither were they the conveners of the said convention with wicked and criminal intent.
Judge Jallah’s Writ alleged that the act of the LP Chairman along with his deputy being unlawful, criminal, illegal and intentional is in violation of section 15.70, and 10.2, 10.3 of the New Panel Law of Liberia.
