Liberia: Transport Ministry suspends Vehicle Inspection Exercise, But…

The Ministry of Transport has temporarily suspended the vehicle inspection exercise to ensure flexibility in the movement of people ahead of the October 10 Elections.

The Head of Communication at the Ministry, Lemuel Kleeme, said:” The Ministry has already informed the Liberia National Police (LNP) about the decision.”
Mr. Kleeme told ELBC Super Morning Show recently that anyone caught undermining the Ministry’s decision will be punished under the law.
He said:” The Ministry still expects vehicle operators and drivers to register their vehicles to avoid future embarrassment.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Kleeme disclosed that the Transport Ministry has reduced vehicle registration across the country.
The vision of the Ministry of Transport is to achieve a coordinated, harmonized, affordable, effective and efficient transport system, consistent with international standards and responsive to the socio-economic growth and development of Liberia.
