LIBERIA: THE EX-CHIEF OF POLICE OF SIERRA LEONE ARRESTED IN MONROVIA
The Minister of Information, Lidgerhood Rennie, on Monday told Daily Watch News that the former police chief of Sierra Leone has been arrested by the Liberia national Police on request of the Sierra Leonean Government.
“Mohammed Yeaty Tutay was arrested on the request of the Sierra Leonean Government. We are carrying on preliminary investigations.” Minister RENNIE said.
Mohammed Turay was dismissed in May 2020 by the President of that country, he then fled to Liberia to seek refuge.
Though the Minister of Information did not say why the Government of Sierra Leone requested for the arrest of Mohammed Turay, there were reports that he was accused of attempting a Coup d’etat in Sierra Leone.
