House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers has identified with the Widow of former Liberian President, Nettie Blah

Speaker Chambers, in a downpour of rain early Friday morning, 23 June, visited the home of the former first lady of Liberia, Mrs. Blah.

Speaker Chambers extended his sincerest regards and expressed his desire to identify with her during this time.

He told the former first lady that last week he embarked on reaching out to the widow of former Liberian Vice President Regina Mehn Dogolea, but was told she left for Nimba County.

The speaker believes it is crucial for everyone to come together, irrespective of their political affiliations, to understand and empathize with one another.

He presented her a small token of appreciation along with some assorted food items for her upkeep during the rainy season.

In response, the former first lady expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the token of appreciation presented to her by the speaker and the visit to her home, and said it was a delightful surprise, which truly brightened her day.

Former First Lady Blah said the speaker’s thoughtfulness and kindness are deeply appreciated.

“It means a great deal to me that you took the time to choose to leave your busy schedules under this heavy rain to come to my house to identify with me. It reflects your understanding of humanity, and I am genuinely touched by your gesture,” she stated.

Mrs. Blah then told Speaker Chambers to extend her greetings to the President of Liberia H.E Dr. George Manneh Weah and would wish to meet him in person.

“Speaker, please tell the President hello for me. Tell him I want to meet and shake his hands, he’s my son, I am here,” Mrs. Blah asserted.
