LIBERIA: Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend re-arrested

A man who allegedly spilled acid on his girlfriend has pleaded not guilty to the crime of murder.

Defendant Sam Ali Kemokai, on December 4, 2016, committed the act in Logan Town, accusing his fiancée, Mercy Gbanjah, of extra affairs.
According to an indictment, Defendant Sam intentionally committed the act to satisfy his selfish motives.
The Suspect absconded for the past six years and was re-arrested on April 9, 2022, at the Duala Market, outside Monrovia.
On Monday, May 29, 2023, Prosecuting Lawyers paraded three witnesses to testify against the suspect, pending the next hearing on Tuesday at the Criminal Court ‘‘A’’ at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
The Temple of Justice is a large building of modern style which was designed by Tommaso Valle in the 1960s on Capitol Hill in Monrovia, Liberia. Dedicated in 1965, it houses the Supreme Court of Liberia, auxiliary courtrooms, and legal offices.
