LIBERIA: Foreign Minister Kemayah assures UN Special Rep. of the Secretary General of Free, Fair, and Transparent Elections in Liberia

Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah, Sr. has assured the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, Leonardo Santos Simao, that the upcoming October 10 Elections will be free, fair, transparent, peaceful, and inclusive.

Minister Kemayah reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Weah-led Government to ensure the conduct of transparent and peaceful elections in Liberia.
The Chief Liberian Diplomat made these remarks on Tuesday, August 15, 2023; Leonardo Santos Simao paid a courtesy call on him at his Foreign Ministry Office on Capitol Hill.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs is a cabinet minister of Liberia in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a government ministry responsible for conducting foreign relations of the country. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. Originally called the “Secretary of State”, the position assumed its current name in 1972.
Meanwhile, Mr. Simao’s visit is part of his regional familiarization tour following his appointment as the new Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel.
Mr. Simao will meet the national authorities, the United Nations Country Team, and representatives of the diplomatic corps, among others.
