According to report gathered by this paper, the supporters in a dangerous mood, moved to the premise of one of the county’s Senator, Zoe Emmanuel Pennoh and set the entire compound ablaze.

Representative Gwion first ascended to the 54th Legislature in 2021 to occupy the vacancy left by Sen. Pennoh, who was elected to the Liberian Senate in the 2020 Special Senatorial Election.

The late Grand Gedeh lawmaker, who contested on the ticket of the outgoing government of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), was several lawmakers that retained their seats in the October 10, 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections. He died late Monday, December 4.

Accordingly, there were reports of heavy gun firing across Zwedru as supporters of the late lawmaker accused Senator Pennoh of being responsible for the death of his fellow member of the Grand Gedeh Legislative Caucus on grounds that both men have rivaled for very long time.
