“We brought to you another Nelson Mandela. We want to tell the National Elections Commission or NEC that there is no room for cheating in our dictionary. We will not accept any cheating. What we accepted to in 2017 will not be accepted this time. We will retire President Weah to play his football,” he concluded.
Partisans and supporters of the UP had their own version for the lockdown of Monrovia and its environs.
Speaking in an exclusive Interview with this paper at the ATS, Francis Mulbah, a resident of Central Monrovia, said that the turnout is a clear indication that the UP has stolen a one-round victory from CDC.
He asserted that the President Weah and the CDC Government have been awaiting their gathering to make demeaning statement but from what was seen is clear indication that President Weah is far from re-election
“The message is resounding and it has resonated. This is vote one vote all. We came out in our numbers to show to the CDC that we will beat them in a one-round victory. This is what they have been claiming over the past months but we have silenced them today by this gathering,” he noted.
Also speaking, Marie Massaquoi stated that Liberians under the leadership of President Weah and the CDC have benefited nothing but hardship, poverty and drugs, and as such, there is an urgent need for change through the ballot.
According to her, Liberia has lost international recognition and relevance and therefore, it’s about time that Liberians stand out and say no to bad governance and reclaim the country.
“It’s about time we say no to those who don’t understand what bad governance meant. Our decision to come out in the rain today is to demonstrate to our people and the international community that we are prepared to reclaim the country. We have decided to join forces with the recuse team to make this history possible,” she concluded.
