LIBERIA: A MAN AND A WOMAN FRAUDULENTLY SOLD CRUDE OIL BELONGING TO LIBERIA

Information reaching this paper reveals that an American citizen and a Liberian Canadian have fraudulently got engaged in the sale of crude oil belonging to the Republic of Liberia.

According to the contract for sale and purchase, copy of which is in possession of this paper, the initial quantity of crude oil for sale and purchase under the contract shall be 5,301,342 barrels of crude oil in shore tanks as shall be specified in the lifting Schedule of each relevant Month.

“This contract shall take effect on January 9, 2023 and shall, subject to Article 13 hereunder, remain valid for a period of two months.” The document says.

The two suspects, Ms. Carman Lisa Woods, President of WASIL HOLDINGS INC, USA, and Christian Geeplay WEAH, a Canadian-Liberian who is purporting to be the brother of the President of the Republic of Liberia, are currently being investigated by the Liberia National Police.

“It has come to our attention that suspect Christian Geeplay Weah is involved with numerous fraudulent schemes, targeting, and duping investors of substantial amounts. Evidence in our possession, indicates that Ms. Carman Lisa WOODS, President/WASIL HOLDINGS INC< USA has remitted over USD$ 300,000.00 of a total of USD$ 3,500,000.00 to suspect Weah on grounds that she is the direct representative of Liberia authorized to sell Liberian crude oil block 9 to external investors.” A letter for an assistance in a case of theft of property, fraud, and economic sabotage investigation from the LNP says.
