750 Enterprise, a Lebanese owned company located on Somalia Drive, outside Monrovia, has been caught in an act of evading tax.
The Liberian government, through the anti-smuggling unit at Liberia Revenue Authority, is investigating 750 Enterprise for allegedly falsely declaring 2,497 bags of flour worth $119,000 usd as burger wheat when importing the goods.
The company located on Somalia Drive outside Monrovia, is accused of mislabeling the shipment to potentially avoid paying the proper import duties fees.
The Liberian Revenue Authority, LRA, does not have the necessary required technology to scan and detect the exact content of goods imported in the country.
750 Enterprise could be one of the hundreds, even the thousands of mislabeling in the country, something that is depriving the Government of Liberia of millions of revenue.
